On July 13, 2020 California Governor Newsom shut down hair salons in response to elevating COVID-19 cases throughout the state. This same day the CDC released a study (https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2020/p0714-americans-to-wear-masks.html) touting the effectiveness of masks in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and using a HAIR SALON as a positive example.

These are the faces of our industry. The diverse, professional group of people that have taken the mandatory guidelines given to us and have done more. Collectively we have gone above and beyond the CDC requirements to keep our communities SAFE during this COVID-19 pandemic. Although this is happening in California right now, being ignored and treated as less than professional is a problem affecting our entire industry.
